Craft Distillery Branding

Sono 1420 American Craft Distillery
Initial branding concept for the craft gin and whiskey packaging in my portfolio. The Sono 1420 brand draws inspiration from the prohibition era for everything from their spirits to their brand mission. That being said, "the blind pig" was a nickname used during that era for speakeasys and those smuggling illegal spirits into them. The icon that sits above the logo is a silhouette of a flying pig with aviator goggles. Why flying you ask? The era also spoke of rebellious people seeking freedom, and the term "when pigs fly" was more than relatable. The negative space below the belly creates the illusion of a liquor bottle, which speaks to the concealed and undercover methods to transport spirits.
